Architects 2XJ team implemented the project of reconstruction of the National Library building in Vilnius, Lithuania. Floor area totaled 6100 square meters. meters. Most of the old elements had to be stored in the original form or refurbish.

Updated functional areas include several hundred jobs for the visitors, space for collaboration, a cafe, a conference hall, a gallery, recording studio, cinema, kindergarten and more. Designers have tried to show the connection between the old and new elements, retaining, however, the difference between them. Modern homogeneous black furniture creates a new interior identity. Composed of modules and minimalist in style, she avoids the pretentious forms. Some parts reach up to 6 meters in height, which corresponds to the large scale of the interior spaces and creates a clear structure.
