In early October, we went to London, where among the 170-minute guests from 8 countries of the world, attended the presentation of a large-scale kinetic sculptures. This installation, which is a unique combination of metal, text, light and movement, was created in the framework of the project "Be a part of the great history", organized by Whiskey The Famous Grouse. Unusual design embodies the thoughts of thousands of people about the glory.
But we are not just lucky enough to visit on the show this work of art, but also to participate in the filming movie about him, to taste different whiskeys The Famous Grouse, and take part in creating their own original blend of whiskey.


In August, the brand The Famous Grouse has launched a project to examine how people in different countries are considering the concept of fame. Everyone could send your answer to the question - What would you like to be famous for? ( "How would you like to go down in history?"). The best options were used to create kinetic metal sculptures. On copper tapes laser cut 1542 response to more than 30 languages.

The metal tape gathered in one large structure, which is symbolized form a vortex within the golden whiskey glass.

Global presentation of the sculpture has been in the center of London, in the legendary club The Chapel, where the installation was collected for 17 days.

The club is housed in an old Anglican church which has for many years does not conduct religious services and is used as a site for cultural events. And in the '80s there was located one of the first in the British capital of gay clubs.

The project brought together people of different countries of the world - from Canada to Russia and from Sweden to Chile. 208 responses, included in the sculpture, were sent to the Russians, but the impression that the phrases in Russian was much more. There were inscriptions in Ukrainian, and Bulgarian.

to create a sculpture using 62 copper tape. Inside the structure is a robotic arm with a light source that moves randomly changing color and direction of light.

The height and width of sculpture was more than 5 meters, and weight - 300 kg.

Light effects and the robotic arm create the effect of a rotating movement, rejecting the projections of text on the dark walls of the building. Several copper strips also attached separately to the play of light and shadow was more elaborate.

The presentation in London was the culmination of the project "Be a part of the great history" of The Famous Grouse.

For many years this brand is the only blended whiskey supplied to the court of Her Majesty the Queen.
