Then he moved to BAR, which has made the long-awaited first podium - at the Malaysian Grand Prix 2004. Controversial moment occurred at the beginning of August 2004. Button said that the signed contract for two years with Williams, and in fact held in BAR-Honda for the current contract had the following year. The matter went to court, and in mid-October at the hearing the Council, it was in Milan, decided the fate of Button in 2005: he should spend the entire season with BAR-Honda team.

Also in 2005, his team was banned for two races for an additional reservoir in the fuel tank, which allowed bolide weigh more than the minimum, but in the race the car weighed more easily and did not meet the regulations. Jenson did not lose time in vain: commentator sat in ITV Sport.

In late 2008, Honda announced its withdrawal from the "Formula 1". It seems that Jenson will never achieve its goal - to not become a world champion. Happens next is more like a fairy tale than a reality: Ross Brown, an engineer and the head of the previous Honda, bought the team and gave it a new name: Brown GP. Brown signed Jenson and Rubens Barrichello for the season 2009. Their cars were very fast. Button won six of the first seven races of the year, which allowed him to lead his team to victory in the Constructors' Championship, and to become a world champion! From 2010 to 2016 the British driver was the pilot of McLaren team. His best times in the stables came at the time of their cooperation with Mercedes, then he scored 8 victories. The most incredible of them - the race in Canada, which lasted more than four hours, and was rich in numerous incidents and accidents. At this Grand Prix was five appearances of the safety car, Jenson himself six times dropped in for a pit stop on the last lap went the second, but was able to finish the first due to an error Vettel on a drying track.
