The Dutch company Fiction Factory introduced a compact house, which is used in the construction of pressboard high strength. This house can be built in just 24 hours, and it will last about 100 years. The cost of innovation - 30 thousand euro. Currently houses are sold only in some parts of Europe, where the queues for them.


With the Dutch word Wikkelhouse translates as "house-wrap". The process of creating an unusual property really looks like wrapping process: frame house turns into 24 layers of cardboard. In fact, every such house - it is an individual project, because they are all slightly different from each other in size.


Each house is assembled from five or six cartons modules weighing 500 kg, are easily interconnected via harmless adhesive. The customer chooses the desired size of housing. In addition, Wikkelhouse does not require a deep foundation, which facilitates its installation. As a company-developer declares the assembly is carried out at home in just 24 hours a construction team.

Here is the wall of Green Buildings: the cardboard is treated with water-repellent, and to further strengthen the construction of the strength of the tree.

The construction is stable and durable. Its total weight is only 3 tons, so the foundation for such a house is not necessary.

Inside and outside the house is decorated with a waterproof film, glued to a wooden surface. This protects the interior and exterior of the house from the weather.

The manufacturer is also experimenting with the placement of Wikkelhouse on a floating platform.
